🔍 How to Check Eligibility for the Ehsaas Program

Method 1: Check via SMS (8171)

  1. Open the SMS app on your phone.

  2. Type your CNIC number (without dashes).

  3. Send it to 8171.

  4. You will receive a confirmation message about your eligibility.

Example: 1234567891234 → send to 8171

Method 2: Online CNIC Check via 8171 Web Portal

  1. Visit the official web portal: https://8171.pass.gov.pk

  2. Enter your CNIC number.

  3. Enter the captcha code shown in the image.

  4. Click on “معلوم کریں” (Check Eligibility).

  5. You’ll instantly see your status on the screen.

This method is free and does not require sending an SMS.

🧾 Ehsaas Program Registration Requirements

✅ Eligible If:

  • You have no job or business.

  • Your monthly income is below Rs. 25,000.

  • You are not enrolled in other aid programs like BISP.

  • You are a widow, elderly, or disabled.

  • You have a pension below Rs. 10,000.

❌ Not Eligible If:

  • You or your spouse has a vehicle registered in your name.

  • You or your spouse has a monthly phone bill over Rs. 1,000.

  • You or your spouse has traveled abroad.

  • You or family members have used executive fee services for CNIC or passport.

  • You or your spouse is a government employee.

💻 How to Register for the Ehsaas Program (Online + SMS)

Online Method:

  1. Visit 8171.pass.gov.pk

  2. Enter your CNIC number.

  3. Click on “Apply for Ehsaas Program”.

  4. If eligible, a confirmation message will appear.

Offline Method (via SMS):

  1. Type your CNIC number (no dashes).

  2. Send it to 8171.

  3. You’ll receive a reply with your eligibility status.

💰 What Amount Can You Apply For?

You can request financial support from the Ehsaas Program for any of the following amounts, depending on your eligibility:

  • Rs. 2,000

  • Rs. 8,500

  • Rs. 9,000

  • Rs. 12,000

  • Rs. 23,000

2. Via HBL Retailer Shops:

  • Go to your nearest HBL retailer.

  • Collect your cash if your account shows funds.

3. By Calling the Ehsaas Helpline:

  • Call 021-111-000-425.

  • Follow voice instructions and enter your CNIC.

  • A representative will help you check your payment status.

🧾 NSER Survey – Why It Matters

The National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) survey is required to qualify for the Ehsaas Program. Your eligibility will be determined through this data. If you’re not in the NSER, visit the nearest Ehsaas Registration Center to participate in the survey.

The Ehsaas Program was launched in 2019 by former Prime Minister Imran Khan to fight inflation and poverty in Pakistan. It has been continued by the current government under the supervision of Shazia Marri.
